Softball Recap: West Branch Warriors vs. Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels        
        
		
            
 West Branch came tearing into  Tuesday's  matchup with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels  a   14-0 shutout. Considering West Branch has won three games by more than nine  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Carsyn Wesesky made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Wesesky was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brooke Bainey, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Layla Thompson, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 West Branch pushed their record up to 5-1 with that  win, which was their seventh straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Moshannon Valley, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Branch will  face off against Mount Union at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. West Branch will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last. As for Moshannon Valley, they are on the road again  on Thursday to play Williamsburg at 4:30  p.m. Williamsburg and Moshannon Valley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
