Preview: Harding University Rams vs. Hough Huskies
Harding University is 0-5 against Hough since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Harding University Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Hough Huskies at 6:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Harding University has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Hough will arrive with three straight victories.
Harding University pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Charlotte. Harding University has not had much luck with West Charlotte recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Hough stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 51-31 margin over West Charlotte.
Harding University dropped their record down to 2-17 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Hough, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Harding University was dealt a bruising 62-16 loss at the hands of Hough when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hough's Jacquelyn Jakubecy, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
