Basketball Recap: Barnum Comes Up Short

Barnum suffered their biggest defeat since January 21, 2025 on Thursday. They were beaten by the Cromwell Cardinals 63-32. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Bombers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Leading Cromwell to victory were Shannon Lund and Emelia Dahl. Lund dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards, while Dahl posted 13 points along with five assists and four steals. Lund also grabbed six steals, which is notable because the Cardinals are undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 2-4 otherwise. Claire Irving was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Barnum fell to 10-1. As for Cromwell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Barnum will square off against Cherry at 1:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Cromwell, they will take on Floodwood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Polar Bears have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
