Basketball Recap: Baldwyn Comes Up Short

Baldwyn played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 70-42 defeat at the hands of the Wheeler Eagles. The Bearcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Wheeler found their leader in freshman Marli Kate Shockley, who went 9 for 12 on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds. Those 20 points gave Shockley a new career-high. Macie Arnold was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Baldwyn's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Wheeler, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.

As of now, neither Baldwyn nor Wheeler have any future games scheduled.
