Basketball Game Preview: Oak Hills Highlanders vs. Princeton Vikings

Oak Hills is 1-9 against Princeton since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Oak Hills Highlanders will take on the Princeton Vikings at 1:45 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Oak Hills slipped by Hamilton 27-26. The 27-point effort marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Princeton waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Firebirds 70-49. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Princeton found their leader in freshman Erin Thomas, who went 12 for 15 en route to 22 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mari Gerton, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Princeton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Oak Hills, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Oak Hills lost to Princeton on the road by a decisive 43-29 margin when the teams last played on January 11th. Can Oak Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
