Baseball Recap: Trillium Academy Comes Up Short

Trillium Academy extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-10 in the process. They lost 8-1 to the Henry Ford Academy Navigators. Trillium Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Henry Ford Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Henry Ford Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

For Henry Ford Academy's part, Evan Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Henry Ford Academy is 2-1 when Brown allows three or fewer earned runs, but 7-9-1 otherwise. Brown was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Kobe White was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last 12 games he's played.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trillium Academy will square off against Cabrini at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henry Ford Academy, they will face off against Annapolis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
