Softball Recap: Garber Comes Up Short

Garber was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hemlock Huskies. The Dukes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Garber saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Zwetzig, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Zwetzig is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Garber's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Hemlock, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Garber and Hemlock will both be playing Ithaca the next time they take the field. The Dukes will host the Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Huskies will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
