University is 8-2 against Buckhannon-Upshur since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the University Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, University was able to grind out a solid victory over Parkersburg South, taking the game 62-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Buckhannon-Upshur earned a 63-53 win over Lincoln on Saturday.

Buckhannon-Upshur's win came from a few key players University will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alyssa Abel, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Harley Dean, who posted 11 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Buckhannon-Upshur smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Buckhannon-Upshur's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Everything came up roses for University against Buckhannon-Upshur in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for University since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
