Baseball Recap: Irmo's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Irmo entered their tilt with Camden on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Camden Bulldogs 11-2. That's two games straight that the Yellow Jackets have won by exactly nine runs.

Kyler Baker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jayllen Fray was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Reece Dawkins also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Irmo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Irmo's record is now 3-1. As for Camden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irmo will head out to square off against Dutch Fork at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Irmo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Camden, they will take on Lakewood at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
