Baseball Game Preview: Louis E. Dieruff Huskies vs. Parkland Trojans

Louis E. Dieruff hasn't had much luck against Parkland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Huskies will challenge the Trojans at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Louis E. Dieruff's offense. They lost 10-0 to Emmaus on Tuesday.

Louis E. Dieruff saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Dejesus, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Parkland came out on top against Pleasant Valley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Bears. Considering the Trojans have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Steven Sepko looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Gerhart, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Weninger, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Parkland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Valley struck out eight times.

Parkland's record now sits at 12-4. As for Louis E. Dieruff, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Louis E. Dieruff suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Parkland when the teams last played last Monday. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
