Volleyball Recap: Lily Simons Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Lauralton Hall

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Lyme, Amity Regional was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Lauralton Hall Crusaders 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won eight in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Amity Regional was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-9, 25-11.

Amity Regional's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Simons led the charge by getting eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Simons has posted over her last eight matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Noralynn Bosma, who had four aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Amity Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lauralton Hall only served three.

Amity Regional's record now sits at 9-2. As for Lauralton Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Amity Regional didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Hand on the 30th. As for Lauralton Hall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Mercy on the 1st.
