Basketball Recap: Stevenson Piles Up the Points Against Coachella Valley

Stevenson picked up another tournament win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs 70-42.

Despite the loss, Coachella Valley had strong showings from Joe Beltran, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points and three steals, and Sebastian Garcia, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Garcia is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Stevenson's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Coachella Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Stevenson won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Palo Verde Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coachella Valley, they and Xavier Prep will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
