Baseball Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Firelands Falcons
The Avon Lake Shoremen will square off against the Firelands Falcons at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Firelands took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Avon Lake, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Avon Lake made easy work of Bay and carried off an 8-1 win. The Shoremen haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Isaac Soloff made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Soloff was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, Brayden Poltrone looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
