Baseball Game Preview: Frost Polar Bears vs. Crawford Pirates

The Frost Polar Bears will challenge the Crawford Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Frost is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Frost is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Mart. The victory was some much needed relief for the Polar Bears as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Brady Martin made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Frost is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7-1 otherwise. Martin was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Reid King was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Dyer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Frost kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Crawford entered their tilt with Lipan on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Indians a 5-0 shutout.

Crawford's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Frost, their record now sits at 11-7-1.
