Softball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Wilkes-Barre was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 8-1 to the Crestwood Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 two weeks ago.

Wilkes-Barre saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn McGuinness, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Wilkes-Barre has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Crestwood, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Wilkes-Barre will head out on the road to take on Hazleton Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.89 runs per game on average), something the Wolfpack will no doubt try to take advantage of. Crestwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
