Volleyball Recap: Verrado Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Verrado was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of North Canyon on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vipers fell 3-1 to the Basha Bears on Wednesday. The Vipers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The 3-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 27-25.

Aniah Brown paced Verrado's offense, picking up 19 kills. Brown got some help from Baylee Wakeham and her 45 assists. Finally, Brown was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Leading Basha to victory were Kameron Russell and Kaylie Lynar. Russell had 11 digs and two assists, while Lynar had three digs and two aces. That's the most digs Russell has posted since back in September.

Verrado's defeat dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Basha, their victory bumped their record up to 19-13.

Verrado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Basha, they will be playing at home against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
