Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Paradise's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

It's playoff time, and Paradise had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Village Tech Viper Squid on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kolten Neil looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Walker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Olalde, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Paradise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Paradise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Village Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Paradise will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Viper Squid: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
