Football Game Preview: Puckett Wolves vs. Newton Tigers

The Puckett Wolves will challenge the Newton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses apiece.

Puckett came up short against East Rankin Academy on Friday, falling 40-14.

Despite the loss, Puckett had strong showings from Creel Workman, who threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns, and Jake Phillips, who picked up 64 receiving yards and one TD. Phillips was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 61 yards.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Newton was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 42-6 defeat at the hands of Scott Central.

Puckett's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-7.
