Preview: Campbell County Camels vs. Sheridan Broncs
After eight games on the road, Campbell County is heading back home. They will take on the Sheridan Broncs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Campbell County is ranked eighth, while Sheridan is ranked seventh).
Last Friday, Campbell County came up short against Stevens and fell 55-45. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Campbell County in their matchups with Stevens: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Onna Castellanos, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Cami Curtis, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sheridan waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 52-43 victory over Kelly Walsh.
Campbell County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Sheridan, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-1.
Campbell County came up short against Sheridan in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 51-43. Can Campbell County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
