Volleyball Game Preview: Washington Eagles vs. Balboa Buccaneers

Washington hasn't had much luck against Balboa recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Washington is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Lincoln, falling 3-0.

Washington took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Balboa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Lowell.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Balboa's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Washington couldn't quite get it done against Balboa when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
