Recap: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Galena Grizzlies
The Chowchilla Tribe have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They suffered a tough 48-23 defeat at the hands of Galena on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chowchilla has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Chowchilla still got an impressive performance from Ryan Deatherage, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Deatherage scored a full 34.8% of Chowchilla's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Zayne Smith, who scored seven points.
Chowchilla's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Galena, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Chowchilla and Troy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Troy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chowchilla in California (Troy is ranked 238th, while Chowchilla is ranked 721st).
