Soccer Game Preview: New Albany vs. Providence

New Albany is 1-8-1 against Providence since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home pitch against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. New Albany is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Providence better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if New Albany's game on Saturday is any indication, that's when New Albany really gets things going. The Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand Evansville Central a 3-0 shutout. Considering New Albany have won ten matchups by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Evansville Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bailey Belden, Tess Chrisman, and Clara Railey.

Meanwhile, neither Providence nor Lawrenceburg could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

With that draw, Providence's record moves to 8-3-4. As for New Albany, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
