Basketball Recap: Ogden Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Ogden and Emery squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ogden had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Emery Spartans and fell 61-24. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

Emery got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Nielson out in front who posted 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kali Jensen, who had nine points along with six assists and three steals.

Ogden has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Emery, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Ogden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Emery will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Morgan at 9:10 p.m. on February 24th. One thing working in Morgan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
