Softball Recap: Issaquah Takes Down Ranked Eastmont

Issaquah faced Eastmont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles walked away with a 9-5 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

London White (2027) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Taylor Chan (2027) and Sadie Huryn (2025) did most of the damage at the plate: Chan (2027) went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Huryn (2025) went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Chan (2027) launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Baumann (2026), who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Issaquah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastmont only posted a batting average of .281.

Issaquah's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Eastmont, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Issaquah will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
