Basketball Recap: Nicholas County Comes Up Short

Nicholas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenbrier East Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-59 two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Nicholas County lost, don't look at Trey Stump. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points and four steals. Stump's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Miner, who put up six points and eight rebounds.

Nicholas County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Greenbrier East, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Nicholas County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-49 loss against PikeView on the 7th. As for Greenbrier East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-46 defeat against Shady Spring on the 7th.
