Jack Engelthaler leads Basis to victory over Northland Prep Academy

The Basis Yeti came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 65-61 win over Northland Prep Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jack Engelthaler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 39 points and ten rebounds. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rowdy McGourin, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Basis' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Northland Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Basis will head out on the road to face off against El Capitan/Centennial Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northland Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Red Rock at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
