Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cordova). They put the hurt on the Overton Wolverines with a sharp 20-9 victory on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Logan Chapman was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. John Kirkland also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cordova's record now sits at 7-4-1. As for Overton, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cordova will face off against Memphis East at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Overton, they will take on KIPP Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines are facing the phoenix at the right time seeing as the phoenix are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
