Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Lafayette Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the McCutcheon Mavericks, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 25-11.

Lauren Johnson paced Lafayette Central Catholic's offense, picking up six kills. Johnson were helped by Paige Perez and Charli Cain, who contributed seven assists each. Perez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lafayette Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for McCutcheon, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 12-16.

Coming up, Lafayette Central Catholic will take on Rossville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McCutcheon, after both having extra time off, they and Lafayette Jefferson will shake off the rust and duke it out at 11:00 a.m. on the 18th.
