Basketball Game Preview: Lake Ridge Eagles vs. Boswell Pioneers

The Lake Ridge Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Boswell Pioneers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lake Ridge has five straight victories, Boswell has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Lake Ridge beats Boswell with 60 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Lake Ridge enjoyed a cozy 60-41 win over Mansfield Legacy on Tuesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Broncos are ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Eze Nwakamma, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shaqir Pack, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Boswell didn't have quite enough to beat Weatherford on Tuesday and fell 44-42.

Lake Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season. As for Boswell, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
