If Lorena was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of La Vega last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lorena came up short against the Gatesville Hornets on Tuesday, falling 10-1. The Leopards' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lorena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklynn Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Lorena's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Gatesville, they pushed their record up to 17-7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

While Lorena had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
