The Liberty Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Rodriguez Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
Liberty picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Las Lomas.

Tristan Ainsworth tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Liberty is undefeated when Ainsworth allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chayce Formosa, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Trace Hoover also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Liberty hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Las Lomas struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rodriguez, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Vanden 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since April 27, 2024.
Carson Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rodriguez let Ben Vaughn and Drew Beasley run wild. Vaughn scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Beasley scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Liberty pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rodriguez, their record now sits at 9-7.
Liberty skirted past Rodriguez 2-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
