Recap: Booker T. Washington Tornadoes vs. Norland Vikings
After flying high against the Killian Cougars two weeks ago, the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes came back down to earth. Booker T. Washington took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norland on Monday. While losing is never fun, Booker T. Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Norland is ranked 26th).
It was another big night for Marcus Allen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds for Norland. Allen has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Caleb Clarke was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two blocks.
Booker T. Washington has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Norland, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-9.
Booker T. Washington won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Coral Reef at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in Coral Reef's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Norland, they will be playing at home against Hialeah Gardens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
