Basketball Recap: STX Gets the Win

STX hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost three straight) but thanks in part to Caedmon Williams that streak is no more. The STX Saints breezed by the Science and Tech Stingrays to the tune of 69-35 on Saturday thanks in part to Williams, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of STX's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lucian Lopez, who went 5 for 12 en route to 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

STX's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Science and Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

The future could be bright for both STX and Science and Tech: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. STX will try to hand San Isidro their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Similarly, Science and Tech will look to extend Corpus Christi United's four-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
