Basketball Recap: Millville Comes Up Short

Millville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canton Warriors. The Quakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Canton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Fitch out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Fitch is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Talin Williams was another key player, going 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.

Millville now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Canton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Millville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-34 loss against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the 28th. As for Canton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-46 defeat against Sullivan County on the 30th.
