Softball Recap: Crescenta Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Crescenta Valley and Valencia squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Crescenta Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-3. That makes it the first time this season the Falcons have let down their home crowd.

Chloe Mulcahey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Alexa Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Wong, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Crescenta Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Valencia, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Crescenta Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valencia, they will square off against Yorba Linda at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
