Basketball Game Preview: Gibson County Pioneers vs. Peabody Golden Tide

The Gibson County Pioneers will face off against the Peabody Golden Tide at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gibson County is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering South Gibson just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Hornets 57-53.

Peabody has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The game between them and Westview didn't end well, with Peabody falling 67-49.

Gibson County now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Peabody, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-4.

Gibson County came up short against Peabody when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 61-53. Can Gibson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
