Volleyball Recap: Sarah Brannin Key Part of Team Effort in Screaming Eagle Win

There's no place like home for Ashley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the North Brunswick Scorpions on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 4th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21.

Ashley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Brannin, who had 27 assists and nine digs. Brannin is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 27 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Putnam, who had 19 assists and six digs.

Ashley moved to 12-8 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for North Brunswick, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ashley will face off against New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Brunswick, they will challenge Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
