Softball Game Preview: Cousino Patriots vs. Center Line Panthers

For the second straight game, Cousino will face off against Center Line. The Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cousino's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Center Line 15-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Haley Neal made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Neal was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Davi Wieczorek was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Payton Hewitt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Cousino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Center Line only posted a batting average of .154.

Cousino pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Center Line, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
