Baseball Recap: Northeastern Falls to Cape Hatteras in First Game of Season

Northeastern unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes on Monday, falling 9-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Northeastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Paris, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Cape Hatteras and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Northeastern is taking a road trip to challenge First Flight at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be First Flight's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Cape Hatteras, they will square off against Albemarle School at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
