Recap: Dade Christian Crusaders vs. Wekiva Mustangs
The Dade Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 48-39 to Wekiva.
Loss or not, Dade Christian got some senior leadership from Kenvenson Malivert who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds and Kevin Rojo who scored ten points along with five assists. Malivert scored a full 41% of Dade Christian's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Berdugo, who scored four points.
Dade Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Wekiva, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Dade Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Divine Savior Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th. One thing working in Divine Savior Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. Wekiva won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elite Academy at 2:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Elite Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.6 points per game.
