Baseball Recap: Fairfield Has No Trouble Against Johnson

Fairfield won the last time they faced Johnson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Falcons have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Rambeau made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rambeau was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Donavan Luu was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaloni Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.

Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Fairfield and bumps their season record up to 18-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairfield beat the Warriors by a score of 19-1 on Thursday.
