Basketball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jonesport-Beals Royals. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-56 back in December of 2024.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Jonesport-Beals, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Woodland will challenge Mattanawcook at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mattanawcook will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Woodland surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jonesport-Beals, they will face off against Narraguagus at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Jonesport-Beals has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
