Soccer Recap: Bassett Comes Up Short

Bassett and Christiansburg squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bassett had to settle for second. They came up short against the Blue Demons, falling 8-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Bassett haven't been shut out since back in April.

With the defeat, Bassett broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8. As for Christiansburg, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Bassett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christiansburg, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lord Botetourt on June 10. Lord Botetourt will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.
