Preview: Fremont Tigers vs. Norfolk Panthers
Fremont is 7-2 against Norfolk since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fremont Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Norfolk Panthers at 5:45 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Fremont and four for Norfolk.
On Tuesday, Fremont came up short against Gretna East and fell 53-40.
The losing side was boosted by Matthea Dalton, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds. Jenna Mcclain was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Norfolk was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 59-53 to Elkhorn South.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Skylar Indra, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Tasha Eisenhauer, who scored 11 points.
Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Norfolk, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Fremont came up short against Norfolk in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 55-45. Thankfully for Fremont, Cameryn Skiff (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
