Softball Recap: Oak Park's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Royal, Oak Park was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Rio Mesa Spartans 5-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Shaila Esparza was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Isabella Jauregui also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Oak Park's record now sits at 5-6. As for Rio Mesa, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Oak Park wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-3 win against West Ranch on the 22nd. As for Rio Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Westlake on the 22nd.
