Softball Recap: Miller City Comes Up Short

If Miller City was feeling good fresh off their 13-4 takedown of Kalida last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Liberty-Benton Eagles by a score of 12-10 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since May 7, 2024.

Lizzy Ellerbrock was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Michel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Miller City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Liberty-Benton, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miller City will take on Crestview at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty-Benton, they will face off against Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
