Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Bell

Bell hadn't done well against Garfield recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bell Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Garfield Bulldogs, sneaking past 46-43. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 788th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 112th).

The win made it two in a row for Bell and bumps their season record up to 2-4. As for Garfield, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-1.

Bell will square off against Legacy at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garfield, they will challenge South East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South East will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Garfield surely won't give up without a fight.
