Basketball Recap: Oakwood Academy Piles Up the Points Against Ider

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakwood Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Ider Hornets 89-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Oakwood Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadon Williams, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Donnell Morgan, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 15 points.

Oakwood Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

The victory got Oakwood Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Ider, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Oakwood Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 82-38 win against Woodville on the 18th. As for Ider, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-42 victory against Crossville on the 18th.
