Basketball Recap: Middle Township Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Middle Township Panthers ended up a good deal behind the Pennington Red Raiders and lost 70-55. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Middle Township still got an impressive performance from Jamir McNeil, who went 9 of 14 en route to 23 points along with seven boards and five assists. The contest was McNeil's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Murawski, who posted 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Middle Township and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Pennington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Middle Township Panthers challenge the Lower Cape May Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pennington, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday.
