Basketball Game Preview: Beatrice Orangemen vs. Seward Bluejays

Beatrice and Seward are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Beatrice Orangemen will be playing at home against the Seward Bluejays on Thursday.

Beatrice is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since February 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Minden, falling 53-32. The contest marked the Orangemen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seward, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Grand Island Central Catholic 56-33 on Saturday. The Bluejays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Seward pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.2 points. As for Beatrice, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Beatrice was able to grind out a solid victory over Seward in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 61-50. Will Beatrice repeat their success, or does Seward have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
